One of Six Suspects Involved in Brutal Downtown Fargo Beating In April 2024 Found Guilty

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — A Moorhead man charged in a brutal downtown Fargo assault last year is found guilty on all three counts.
49-year-old John Hernandez was convicted of two counts of aggravated assault and a count of accomplice to aggravated assault.
Sentencing is set for September 8.
Hernandez was one of six people arrested for the April 6, 2024 beating of Sam Pikula.
He was left with broken bones in his face and a titanium plate in his forehead.
Pikula and another man had been trying to break up a fight in the 600 block of NP Avenue North.
A trial for Esiquio Hernandez of Moorhead is set for August.
He is charged with robbery, aggravated assault, and accomplice to aggravated assault.
One other suspect, Sergio Granados, will go on trial next month for aggravated assault.
