Motorcycle rider flees following high-speed chase in South Dakota, Minnesota

SISSETON, S.D. (KVRR-KWAT) – The Roberts County Sheriff’s Office was involved in a high speed pursuit Thursday, but the person they were chasing got away.

The chase began when a deputy attempted a traffic stop on a motorcycle on South Dakota Highway 10 east of Sisseton near the Minnesota border.

The motorcycle fled at speeds well over 100 miles an hour.

A short time later, the motorcycle passed a second deputy, who used radar to confirm a speed of 152 miles an hour. Deputies continued the chase into Browns Valley, Minnesota at triple-digit speeds.

The motorcycle rider circled back into Roberts County and passed through Peever, again at speeds in excess of 100 miles an hour. A short time later, deputies lost sight of the motorcycle and terminated their search.

The sheriff’s office says the motorcycle is believed to be an orange Suzuki motorcycle. The rider was wearing a gray hoodie sweatshirt, black pants, and a black helmet with an orange-tinted visor.
