Some of the burgers use waffles or croissants as buns, others thought outside the bun when it come to burger toppings.

Customers can either grab a voting card at the restaurant, or use a QR code to rate a burger in five different categories.

The categories are bun, patty, toppings, creativity, and customer service. While Sons of Norway won last year with its lefse burger, this year, the field is wide open.

“This is our third year,” said Jason Jacobson, creative director for H2M Brandaus. “So first year, Mezzaluna took it home. Last year Sons of Norway. This year, who knows? It’s a little early to see who’s coming out on top.”
