UPDATE: City-owned Mack truck hits & kills 9-year-old on bike in south Moorhead

MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR 5PM Update) A nine-year-old Moorhead boy is dead after he was hit in the crosswalk on his bicycle by a Moorhead Public Works vehicle.
Minnesota State Patrol says 64-year-old Victor Port of West Fargo was driving the Mack truck on 14th Street South when he hit the boy at the intersection with 40th Avenue.
The crash happened around 11:30 this morning just east of Azool Hornbacher’s.
Law enforcement and first responders were on the scene for an hour.
Port was not hurt.
In a brief news release by the City of Moorhead, they said no further information is available at this time.
