F-M Pride Week hoping to foster sense of community

Fargo, N.D. (KVRR) — It’s one of the biggest celebrations of the year in Fargo, and it’s all getting started this weekend.

F-M Pride Week is kicking off on Sunday, and will run for a whole week with events from, concerts, to parties and brunch for everyone to get out and celebrate.

Many community groups and local businesses are showing their support and joining in on the party with their own events throughout the week.

F-M Pride Chairman Thane Solberg says that the support they’re shown from the community is part of what makes this week so special.

“So we definitely have a really interesting dynamic here. We live in a very conservative part of the country, but we’re treated as neighbors as we should be. And I think that growing up in rural North Dakota as a rural gay man, that was something that I picked up on from a young age, that we may not see eye to eye on all political topics, but we can definitely still be neighbors and live in the same community.”

F-M Pride expects more than 7,000 people to attend their Pride in the Park event this year. You can find a list of Pride Week events HERE.
