Horace man charged in shooting death of his girlfriend pleads guilty to manslaughter

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — A Horace, North Dakota man has changed his plea to guilty to manslaughter for the shooting death of his girlfriend at their apartment last November.

21-year-old Derrick Lobbo also pleaded guilty to child neglect while aggravated assault and reckless endangerment charges were dropped.

23-year-old Sakeena Khaadi died of a single gunshot wound from a handgun.

Lobbo left the apartment after the shooting and went to a nearby clinic, seeking help.

His 2-year-old daughter was still in the apartment when deputies arrived.

A sentencing date for Lobbo has not yet been scheduled.
