1 dead in semi crash on I-94 near Valley City

VALLEY CITY, N.D. (KVRR) — The North Dakota Highway Patrol says the driver of a semi-truck has died after driving off Interstate-94, driving through a slough, into a cornfield.

According to a release by the highway patrol, the call came in at around 4:40 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14. The semi was headed east on I-94 near mile marker 276 when it headed off the roadway into a ditch, before driving through the slough and coming to rest about 200-300 yards in a corn field.

The driver has been transported to Mercy Hospital, in Valley City, where he died.

The crash remains under investigation by the NDHP.
