Valley City Woman Injured in Crash, Charged with DUI

CASSELTON, N.D. (KVRR) – A Valley City woman is being treated for serious injuries after crashing her car in Casselton.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol says the 48-year-old was driving her 2001 GMC Jimmy just before 4 P.M. on Thursday, August 14. She was going northbound on Highway 18 and turned west on 19th Street South, failing to yield and striking a southbound GMC Sierra.

That 37-year-old from Horace, driving the Sierra, was wearing his seatbelt and only suffered minor injuries. The Valley City woman was transported to Sanford in Fargo. She was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash.

She has since been charged with DUI and a moving violation for turning left in front of approaching traffic.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate this incident.
