Walsh County Sheriff’s Office, NDHP Investigating Crash Near Grafton
The two-car crash led to several injuries.

GRAFTON, N.D. (KVRR) – The Walsh County Sheriff’s Department has issued a media release notifying the public that they are helping the North Dakota Highway Patrol with a crash investigation.
The two-vehicle crash happened at 7:50 A.M. on Highway 17 near the Tri Campbell warehouse east of Grafton on August 29.
Multiple injuries have been reported. Authorities are saying that weather was a factor in the crash, as foggy conditions were impacting visibility at the time of the accident.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol is the lead agency with Grafton Police and the Walsh County Sheriff’s Office assisting.
UPDATE: NDHP has released more details about the individuals involved.
According to the agency, a 2024 Ford Escape being driven by a 70-year-old woman tried to pass a farm tractor in a no-pass zone. The driver failed to do so, and struck a 1992 Ford F-150 head-on.
The driver and her passenger, a 65-year-old from Grafton, were both wearing their seatbelts, but were still taken to hospitals with serious injuries. The driver of the F-150 was a juvenile who suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was also taken to a hospital.
