Fargo, N.D. (KVRR) – Local public health agencies are taking Thursday to remind you how you can save a life.

National Save a Life Day is a nationwide event raising awareness of how naloxone can save the life of someone experiencing an opioid overdose.

Fargo Cass Public Health and Clay County Public Health are reminding people that they offer free naloxone along with several community partners in an effort to combat overdose deaths.

And they say the help of their community partners has been critical in their efforts.

“Our states are very supportive of this work, so a lot of funding in North Dakota and Minnesota goes to provide public health and other agencies with this life-saving medication for free.”

Parachigo is one of those community partners, and they say they’ve seen the impact that this medication can have in the community.

So far this year FCHP says they’ve received 448 voluntary reports of lives saved by naloxone from their Harm Reduction Center, already surpassing the total from 2024.
