One person rescued from apartment fire in south Fargo

FARGO (KVRR) – One person was rescued after fire broke out in a south Fargo apartment building early Thursday.

Crews were called to the 1500 block of 27th Avenue S. around 2:15 a.m.

The 24-unit apartment building was evacuated. One person was rescued from the third floor. No people were injured, but one cat did not survive.

A second alarm was called to bring in additional fire crews. The fire was extinguished a little more than an hour after the first fire crew arrived.

The cause of the fire will be investigated.
