Two duck hunters rescued after boat capsizes on Lake Alvin

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Minn. (KVRR) — Two duck hunters went into the water when their boat capsized on the north side of Lake Alvin before 10 a.m.
A conservation officer with the Minnesota DNR and Douglas County Deputies responded and rescued the two hunters.
Ashten Buseman, 23, of Alexandria, was found on the Arrowwood Resort Golf Course.
He told deputies that his friend Ty Weller, 22, of Alexandria, was still in the water.
A DNR shallow water boat was used to find and rescue Ty shortly after 10 p.m.
Both young men received medical attention by North Ambulance on scene and did not need to be transported to the ER.
This is the second time in a year that MN DNR and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office have rescued
duck hunters from a significantly overloaded boat while in cold water.
