Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz under scrutiny for state fraud allegations

MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) — Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz is facing scrutiny after an estimated $1 billion of fraud has occurred during his time in office.

The spotlight on Minnesota on a national level has grown after more than seventy people were indicted in the Feeding Our Future fraud case.

Many government officials, including President Donald Trump, have called out Walz for failing to manage the funds.

Walz responded to criticism, stating, “Those people are going to jail. We’re doing everything we can.”

“I think Tim Walz should say I’m leaving this to the prosecutors, I will cooperate, and anybody in my administration will cooperate fully, and don’t say anything else,” said Dr. Barbara Headrick, Professor of Political Science at Minnesota State Moorhead.

A federal investigation continues into the state fraud allegations.
