WEST FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – The West Fargo Fire Department took a break from their busy schedule on December 4 to reflect on the accomplishments of the past year.

They held their annual Awards Ceremony at their headquarters on 10th Avenue East.

The department handed out several pieces of hardware – including one for 35 years of service to Deputy Chief Dell Sprecher and “Firefighter of the Year” to Captain Rob Dirk.

Department leadership said they were most proud of obtaining Accredited Agency status, and that they were happy to share these successes with their family and loved ones.

“To be able to see them recognized, and to see their families – and to thank them, because the families help us a lot, as well, giving up their time,” said Deputy Chief Thomas Clark. “I think it’s just the recognition of those people and of the entire department.”

Coming up next for the department is the graduation ceremony for the most recent fire academy class.

That will take place Friday, December 5, at Fargo City Hall.
