Minnesota DNR Investigating Elk Shooting

The Minnesota DNR is investigating the shooting of an elk in Norman County.

The elk was shot south of Ada, just off Highway 9 near the Wild Rice River on Saturday.

People in the area say the big elk was spotted frequently throughout the summer in fields around Ada.

Any charges will be filed through the Norman County Attorney’s office.

The 2015 elk hunt wrapped up on Sept. 20 in Minnesota.

Five of seven hunters harvested nice-sized bulls.
