Grand Forks classroom specialist accused of soliciting sexually explicit images from students

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KVRR) — A Valley Middle School classroom specialist has been arrested after attempting to solicit sexually explicit images from students.

Grand Forks Police took 31-year-old Malaun Nelson of Grand Forks into custody this morning after serving a search warrant at his home.

Grand Forks County States Attorney’s Office will consider a charge of promoting or directing an obscene sexual performance by a minor.

The investigation began on Saturday after police received a report of potential inappropriate conduct.

Police believe there is a potential for additional victims that have yet to be identified.

If any students had inappropriate interactions with Nelson, they are encouraged to speak with their parents and contact police.
