NEW YORK MILLS, Minn. — The Ottertail County Sheriff’s Office has released the names of those involved in a dog attack that resulted in the death of a three-year-old boy.

According to the Ottertail County Sheriff’s Office identified the three year old victim as Beckett Brown.

His grandmother, who also received injuries during the attack is identified as Kristen Nelson.

The sheriff’s office says the American Pitbull was owned by the family, and that the family destroyed the dog.

The sheriff’s office is continuing their investigation of the incident.

NEW YORK MILLS, Minn. (KVRR) — A three-year-old boy is dead after being mauled by a dog west of New York Mills, Minnesota.

His 51-year-old grandmother is in a Fargo hospital after suffering serious injuries while trying to stop the attack.

Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office it happened on Sunday afternoon when the boy entered an outside enclosure where the dog was kept.

The grandmother called 911 as she was driving to Perham Health.

The boy died at the hospital.

The adult American Bulldog was put down.
