Helmsley Charitable Trust Awards CT Grant To Rural Hospital
Helmsley Charitable Trust is helping those who live in rural communities receive top quality healthcare.
The nonprofit found CT Scans are one of the top needed services that rural hospitals lack.
Helmsley awarded a 14 million dollar grant to 37 healthcare providers, including Mercy Hospital in Devils Lake, that will go toward providing CT scanners.
It will mean less travel time for patients who need screenings, and allow the hospital to participate in lung cancer screening projects.
“We looked at our CT we found our current CT would not support that. So immediately this project and conduct lung cancer screenings at no charge for those who met the criteria were very excited to be able to do that,” said Andrew Lankowicz CEO of Mercy Hospital in Devils Lake.
Over the last 6 years, the Helmsley Charitable Trust has awarded over 250 million dollars in grants to rural hospitals.
