Libertarian Party to Meet in Mandan

Libertarian Party members from the Dakotas have slated a joint convention in Mandan to endorse candidates and elect party officers.

The meeting is set for Saturday afternoon at the Baymont Inn and Suites in Mandan.

The Libertarian Party is eligible to place candidates on the 2016 North Dakota ballot after one of its candidates got more than 5 percent of the vote in the race for secretary of state.

It is the first time in at least 20 years that a third party could automatically be placed on the statewide ballot.
