Portable heater believed to have caused fire in Miltona, Minnesota

MILTONA, Minn. (KVRR) — A portable heater is believed to be the cause of a fire in Miltona, Minnesota.

Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says they responded to a call before 5 p.m. at 252 Elm Street North. They were assisted by Miltona Fire Department and Carlos Fire Department.

The 19-year-old owner says the heater was placed under the residence to help thaw frozen water pipes.

Two people were taken by ambulance to Alomere Health with minor injuries.

The sheriff’s office says the fire is not suspicious.
