Protest Springs Up in Fargo in Response to Latest Shooting
Organizers put out the call on social media and had accumulated a crowd just after 1:00 P.M. in Fargo.

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – The latest fatal shooting in Minneapolis involving federal agents sparked immediate outcry in the Fargo-Moorhead area.
Following the news that 37-year-old Alex Pretti was dead following a confrontation with Department of Homeland Security agents, Red River United Indivisible quickly put out word of a protest at the corner of 45th St. and 13th Ave. in Fargo.
The crowd began assembling at 1:00 P.M. and stayed until after 2, continuing to battle to cold in order to spread their anti-ICE message.
Organizers said they felt they had to do something after they heard of the latest tragedy.
“People are scared, people are really, really concerned. I mean, another killing in Minneapolis. Another death by ICE. And there’s no sense that there will be an immediate, thorough investigation on the part of the federal administration,” said Lyn Dockter-Pinnick.
“There’s always just the immediate whitewash where they say it’s the victim’s fault. We saw that and we said, ‘We have to show up again’,” she added.
Red River United Indivisible added that after holding numerous protests on the Moorhead side of the border, they believed it was important to have a presence in Fargo this time around.
