Moorhead City Council to meet to discuss a proposed housing shelter for young adults

Housing Shelter

MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) — The Moorhead City Council is close to making a decision on a new housing shelter for young adults.

The shelter was recommended to be built by Youthworks, a non-profit dedicated to helping homeless and housing-challenged young adults under the age of 22 with housing and other needs.

The Moorhead Planning Commission approved of the shelter that would be located at 502 and 512 3rd Ave S.

It would provide a 25 unit space for young adults aged 18 to 24 with housing and other support services.

The council will discuss this on Monday.
