Perham Man Arrested for Attempted Homicide
Authorities say the intervention of a neighbor likely saved the victim's life.

PERHAM, MN (KVRR) – A Perham man is in custody after allegedly attempting to stab a woman to death.
The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office says that just after 10:00 A.M. on February 7, they and the Perham Police Department responded to calls for an assault in progress in a Perham apartment.
22-year-old Cyrus Olson allegedly entered the apartment and began stabbing and physically assaulting a 45-year-old adult female. A neighbor then intervened and called 911. The Sheriff’s Office credits this neighbor with saving the victim’s life.
The victim managed to flee to a friend’s apartment. She was treated by Perham EMS, who took her to a local medical facility, where she was then transported by Lifelink to another hospital. She is listed in serious condition.
Olson was apprehended and booked into the Otter Tail County Detention Facility. He faces numerous charges, including attempted second-degree murder and second-degree assault.
