To Ember’s Family: We’re Thinking of You

A sad update to a story we brought you in July about a Casselton toddler who was fighting for her life after going through multiple surgeries and a heart transplant.

A Facebook post from the family of 2-year-old Ember Carey says the young girl has passed away in Rochester after suffering a massive stroke.

Ember’s health problems started at just 6 months old when doctors diagnosed her with non-compaction cardiomyopathy.

Ember got a new heart on July 16th.

Our thoughts are with the family during this difficult time.
