29th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade Brings Runners, Floats, and Fun to City Streets
Organizers had been coordinating with the National Weather Service to make sure the parade dodged any precipitation.

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – Amidst threatening storms and slightly cloudy skies, the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Fargo-Moorhead seemed to find the perfect pocket of weather to entertain the community.
The festivities technically started at 10:30 A.M., when over 300 runners set out for 5k and 10k races that started on the parade route.
Then the parade itself began at 11, with all kinds of vehicles and marchers rumbling from Center Avenue in Moorhead to Broadway in Fargo.
Organizers said they took extra precautions to make sure the roads were clear – and that they were thankful any precipitation held off.
“I woke up early, our team got down here early, made sure any last little snowfall that might still be here, or ice on the roads or anything, was cleared,” explained Rocky Schneider of the Downtown Community Partnership.
“This has been a perfect day,” he added. “Weather held up, community came out, all the floats, the runners ahead of time – where else can you have thousands of people come out and march and just enjoy the community?”
The Downtown Community Partnership estimates over 10,000 people came out to watch the parade this year, which was the 29th annual installment.
