KVRR takes to the ice for Hope Inc. Sled Hockey Fundraiser

FARGO — The KVRR News Team took to the ice once again this year for a game of sled hockey on behalf of a good cause.

The fundraiser allows different organizations a chance to call attention to the work being done on behalf mobility-challenged children at HOPE, Inc.

They learn how difficult it can be to play hockey while strapped to a sled while also learning how fun it can be.

The money raised goes to help fund HOPE Inc. provide adaptive team sports activities for kids & adults.

“People get into a sled and they find out that it’s very difficult. You appreciate, when you watch some of the Hope Inc. kids play, you’ll appreciate the skill level that they have. But it’s always fun to watch folk. It’s a challenge. It’s a struggle. But that’s what makes it fun,” said HOPE Inc Executive Director Bill Grommesh.

While KVRR failed to take home the win, they did bring home a new appreciation of the skill and talent it takes to be a sled hockey player.
