Bond set at $2 million for Cavalier County murder suspect

WALES, N.D. (KVRR-KFGO) – A man accused of shooting and killing another man in northeastern North Dakota is out of the hospital and in the Grand Forks County Jail.
Russell Hiltner is charged with murder, terrorizing and theft of property after the shooting last week in Wales, North Dakota.
A bond hearing was held for Hiltner on Monday, March 30, where bond was set at $2 million cash.
He appeared remotely from the hospital, but has since been medically cleared and booked into jail.
Cavalier County deputies responded to Hiltner’s home around 9:30 p.m. on March 26 and found a man dead with a gunshot wound to the chest.
