Celebrating ‘Fargo’s’ 30th Anniversary with Peter Stormare

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — It’s a big birthday for the movie Fargo, and the Fargo Theatre is getting in on the celebration.

They’re holding a special screening of the Coen Brothers’ classic to celebrate the film’s 30th anniversary. The screening kicks off their new Centennial Film Series, with one of the stars of the film, Peter Stormare.

The Blond from Fargo himself, will be joining the screening for a Q and A, but first he made a stop by his old woodchipper at the F-M Visitor Center.

He was worried that the film wouldn’t take off initially, but he’s thrilled by what it has meant to people around the world.

“It sort of boosted my career, but we didn’t think so because it was considered to be a real flop. Everybody who saw it before Siskel and Ebert in February said it was the worst movie. And Joel Coen said to me once, “Peter, this is the start and end of your career in Hollywood.”

Stormare was not joined by his partner in crime Steve Buscemi, but we can confirm that he didn’t put him in the wood chipper.

You can catch the showing and the Q&A at 7:00p.m. at the Fargo Theatre.
