FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — After nearly a decade of work, Red River Zoo President and CEO Sally Mulvena has announced she will be stepping down.

She has accepted a new role as President and CEO at an organization in Florida, where she will be reunited with her husband.

Mulvena joined the zoo in 2012 as business manager and was named its leader in 2016.

During her tenure, she strengthened the financial position, expanded its role as a community asset, and enhanced both guest experiences and the zoo’s impact.

Her last day is still over a month away, but she says she’ll miss this community.

“The zoo is so much more than just the animals. It really is about connecting. Connecting with people and connecting with the community and those are the memories that I’m just going to treasure forever,” said Sally Mulvena, President and CEO of Red River Zoo

Her last day will be May 29 and we wish her the best.
