Hoeven Declines to Issue Endorsement in Fargo Mayoral Race
His fellow U.S. Senator, Kevin Cramer, turned many heads with his recent endorsement of Michelle Turnberg.

GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Senator John Hoeven took time, following the ribbon-cutting for Vorbeck Materials’ new facility, to briefly discuss the Fargo mayoral race.
His compatriot in the U.S. Senate, Kevin Cramer, surprised many with his decision to formally endorse candidate Michelle Turnberg.
Hoeven declined to make such an endorsement at this time.
He says he’s more focused on the fact that the voters have so many qualified candidates from which to choose.
“You’ve got great candidates. I know a lot of them,” he said. “I guess if somebody talked to me about [an endorsement], I’d consider it.”
“But the thing I would have to say is that I’m really pleased to see that they’ve got great candidates running, and of course, Fargo is such a wonderful, dynamic community,” he added.
Hoeven added that he, personally, does not typically issue endorsements for mayoral races.
