WEST FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – Competitors from multiple different fitness disciplines gathered at the Butler Machinery Arena this weekend to test their mettle.

The Midwest Fitness Fest featured competitions in CrossFit, powerlifting, strongman, and Olympic weightlifting.

Over 120 athletes participated across all categories.

They represented a large age range in the process – which organizers say demonstrates the inclusiveness of the fitness community.

“Fitness applies to all,” said Jason Ehlert, co-owner of Dakota Barbell. “We had a 14 year old competing in the powerlifting, we’ve got some 60s and 70 year olds over in the CrossFit. You can do it at any age.”

The event was co-sponsored by Scheels and Liquid IV, with plenty of the latter provided to the athletes to make sure they stayed hydrated.
