Chair of North Dakota Democratic-NPL appointed to fill remainder of Conmy’s term

FARGO (KVRR) — The Executive Committee of the District 11 Democratic-NPL announced who will be serving the remainder of Rep. Liz Conmy’s term in office.

Adam Goldwyn, an associate professor of English at North Dakota State University and Chairman of the North Dakota Democratic-NPL, will be filling the role left vacant after Rep. Conmy’s death in a plane crash April 25, 2026.

“I’m honored to be able to fill the term of my dear friend, Liz Conmy. I look forward to carrying on her commitment to the working families of our state,” Goldwyn said.

Goldwyn, who is a member of the public employee union North Dakota United, says he does not inted to run for the seat in the 2026 general election.

“Adam brings years of commitment to good governance in District 11 and across the state. I look forward to serving with him in the interim,” Rep. Gretchen Dobervich (D-11) said.
