FARGO — The Fargo Police Department is notifying the public that the Red River Valley SWAT team will be conducting a training exercise on Monday from Noon until 5 p.m.

The training is taking place in the 50 block of 4th Street North and the 400 block of 3rd Avenue North.

People in those areas can expect to see SWAT team members carrying firearms and moving around the outside of a building. However, police say that no live rounds will be used during the exercise, though loud noises and yelling may be heard in the area.

There will also be several SWAT vehicles in the area with their lights on, though the city says there is no safety concern for the public.

Residents with concerns are being asked to contact the Red River Regional Dispatch Center at 701-451-7660 and ask to speak with one of the training facilitators at the training site.
