WAHPETON, N.D. (KVRR) — North Dakota State College of Science President Rod Flanigan  will transition to administrative leave effective July 1 according to North Dakota University System Commissioner Brent Sanford.

He says Flanigan will be available to support the leadership transition through his contract on December, 31, 2026.

Flanigan has served as president of NDSCS since June 2022 and earlier this month announced his intentions to retire in December.

Sanford says with the upcoming academic year and the 2027 legislative session on the horizon, “it is important that NDSCS have focused, stable leadership in place.”

He says Dr. Lisa Karch has been appointed as the interim president to lead the campus no later than July 1.
