Excuse For Speeding: “Trying to make it to Taco Bell before it closed”

Minnesota statewide crackdown on speeding and unsafe driving between July 6 and 22

ST. PAUL, Minn. — A driver “trying to make it to Taco Bell before it closed” is among the thousands of motorists cited for speeding in Minnesota last month.

That driver was caught going 99 miles per hour in a 65.

Another person told authorities they had “just picked up a glass cake pan from a friend, excited to get home and start cooking.”

That driver was ticketed for going 45 in a 35.

The statewide crackdown on speeding and unsafe driving between July 6 and 22 resulted in more than 14-thousand speeding tickets and 16-hundred seatbelt citations along with dozens of excuses.
