Walter Palmer Will Not Face Extradition

A big break for the Twin Cities dentist who killed a well-known lion in Zimbabwe.

The country is no longer pressing for the extradition of James Palmer in the death of Cecil.

The Environment minister says Palmer can now safely return to Zimbabwe as a “tourist” because he had not broken the southern African country’s hunting laws.

She says police and the National Prosecuting Authority had cleared Palmer of wrongdoing.

Cecil was killed in a bow hunt.

The lion was well-known to tourists and researchers.
