Arizona Man Pleads Guilty in Large North Dakota Heroin Bust

An Arizona man has pleaded guilty in what North Dakota authorities are calling one of the largest heroin busts in state history.

Frank Villa, of Tempe, Arizona, was the driver of a vehicle that was pulled over on I-94 near Bismarck in December.

Authorities found 4 pounds of heroin hidden in the trunk, valued at $2.5 million.

The 48-year-old Villa faces life in prison without parole when he sentenced in January.

A passenger is currently on trial on two drug counts.
