Moorhead Man Charged in Animal Cruelty Case

A Moorhead man is officially charged with animal cruelty in Mahnomen County.

55-year-old Steven Timm is accused of chasing a deer with a pontoon on Tulaby Lake until it drowned.

Witnesses reported seeing it happen.

The DNR says Timm told the officer he was trying to steer the deer back to shore, not hurt it.

His first court appearance is set for October 29.
