Not Guilty Plea for Moorhead Woman Accused of Blinding NDSU Student in Crash
A Moorhead woman accused in a wrong-way drunken driving crash on I-94 pleads not guilty to criminal vehicular operation.
44-year-old Jana Battern appeared in court in a wheelchair.
The crash in March near Fergus Falls left a 23 year-old NDSU student from Coon Rapids blind.
Authorities say Battern had a blood alcohol level of .19.
Authorities say she admitted having a drinking problem and that the crash was her fault.
Her trial is set for November 3.
