You may have noticed a few more patrol cars on the road this holiday weekend.

The Jamestown police force has teamed up with agencies across the state to crack down on drunk driving.

The DUI task force started about a year ago.

Since then, no lives have been lost during scheduled DUI crackdowns on North Dakota highways.

Anywhere between four and six officers will be on duty.

“Having more people out actually working just deters the impaired driving as well. People seeing that were out and actually working on these long holidays deters people driving i do believe too,” says Deputy Matt Thom of the Jamestown Sheriff’s Office.

The crackdowns are scheduled for holidays expecting heavy volumes of traffic.
