Great Plains Food Bank in Great Shape with New Equipment

The Great Plains Food Bank received a special donation … and it wasn’t food.

John Deere and RDO proudly presented a riding lawn mower and snow blower to the food bank.

Both companies have been partnered with the food bank for several years to support the fight to end hunger in North Dakota.

“They made a light-hearted comment about their current mower being on its last leg, it was the wrong color, and it wasn’t green. So we took that as a hint and in order to make their lives a little easier we partnered with RDO to surprise them with this presentation,” says Katie Kuker, from John Deere Human Resources.

John Deere and the Great Plains Food Bank just finished its summer backpack program, packaging food for those on free or reduced lunches.

In just one day, John Deere employees across the country packaged over 24,000 meals in support of world hunger day.
