New Rourke Exhibit Features Art You Can Use
A new exhibit is taking over the Rourke Art Museum, but this type of art, you can use.
The exhibit, “Clay” features 24 ceramic artists from across the upper Midwest.
The artists were invited by the Rourke and asked to choose five of their best pottery pieces.
The exhibit features everything from vases to plates and even some drinking mugs.
“A painting is something that you can live with, it’s something that you engage with if it’s in your life it’s something you look at. But the pottery can be something you look at it but it’s also something you touch so there’s another form of interaction with it,” says Potter, Samuel Johnson.
Johnson says his favorite part about pottery is the way it can be a part of people’s everyday lives.
The exhibit will be open to the public through June 3rd.
