Prosecution Wraps Up Day 5 of Hampton Murder Trial

The final witnesses called by the prosecution have been questioned in the Christopher Hampton trial.

The prosecution rested after bringing a UND pathologist to the stand.

He conducted the autopsy on Randall Doehner, who was allegedly shot and killed by Hampton last June.

He said the gun used in the shooting was a .22 caliber and that the bullets hit Doehner in the back and head.

He says evidence shows that Doehner was shot from more than two feet away.

Dr. Mark Koponen said, “Looking at this the weapon was some distance far enough away so no soot or gunpowder was deposited around the wound.”

The defense will start presenting its case on Monday.
