Fargo city officials and FM Metro COG talk about how they can bridge the gap between transportation and the growing Metro’s population.

Transportation plans are usually updated every five years, but the city has grown a lot faster than the original plan anticipated.

They are hoping to create more public transportation access between 52nd Street and 100 Street South where Fargo and Horace meet.

“Basically looking what the transportation needs are going to be 2020, and 2030, 2040. A part of this plan we’ve actually looked at updating future land use plans for the city of Fargo and the city of Horace,” said Adam Altenburg community transportation analyst.

The city is working on a three phase plan that will span over a 25-year period.
