New Senior Care Unit for Prairie St. John’s

Prairie St. John’s opens a new unit for its patients.

The Senior Care Unit is for elderly people struggling with mental and substance abuse concerns.

Psychiatrists tailor interventions to the older population for their emotional and behavioral needs.

Patients are able to stay up to 14 days in the 16 bed unit.

Prairie St. John’s is the only facility in the area to have this type of unit.

Senior Care Program Director Naomi Tabassum said,”Currently the population in the Fargo-Moorhead area when you know is growing, has been having to go out of state or out of town to find the services that we offer. So now people won’t have to leave town. They can send their loved ones to us.”

If you or someone you know needs this type of help, representatives at the facility are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
