Fargo City Leaders Working On Master Plan

Fargo city leaders are creating a water and sewer master plan prompted by the cities growth.

They are creating the detailed plan to see how the city can function more efficiently with so many new developments.

The city just awarded bids for a $100 million expansion of the water treatment plant to boost capacity.

They believe the timing is right due to developments with the Civic Center, flood protection and potential riverfront development.

“As things start to happen which it seems like they are relatively quickly here, we’ll have a basic plan of public infrastructure, that’ll allow us to make some educated decisions. We just think the timing is right for that,” said Fargo Enterprise Director Bruce Grubb.

After the Utility Commission finishes the water and sewer master plan, they say they hope to move on to streets, traffic and parking.
