Man Stuck On Roof During House Fire

A house fire in Barnesville leaves a man stuck on his roof.

Around 2:45 this afternoon authorities responded to a house fire on 6th street southwest.

When they arrived, they saw smoke coming out of the home and the owner on top of his garage.

Officials say the fire started in the basement but they do not yet know what caused it.

Barnesville police were able to use a ladder to safely rescue the man.

Fire officials contained the fire, but there is significant damage to the basement and first floor.
