New Look for Fergus Falls Library
10 million dollars may be the price tag for the redesign of Fergus Falls public library.
A pre-design was approved by the Fergus Falls city council this past week.
The changes would provide additional space to the library by 13,000 square feet.
Although the library does have foot traffic, library staff says with surveys they conducted for the design the renewal will attract more readers.
Library Director Erin Smith said, “Our survey did reveal that parents don’t bring their children to the library, because they are afraid that they’re going to be too loud. People choose not to study or use the library’s quite space because there isn’t any available. So I’d like to think this will improve attendance.”
Library officials plan to bring the design contract to the City Council for approval this next month.
