The annual North Dakota Winter Show is full of sights and sounds.

It’s the state’s longest–running agricultural show and celebrating it’s 78th year.

Cheryl Tupa has been attending the annual North Dakota Winter Show for 4–years now selling specially selected pieces from her “Jewelry On The Run” line.

The owner says, “There’s so much to do. There’s so many things to see. There’s so many places to go. You have to make sure you pick up that little event folder.”

Besides promoting her brand on a large scale, it’s all the interaction with people that keeps her coming back.

Tupa adds, “Just the comradery with the other venders and seeing the people. I love seeing all the little kids and all the ages from young to old.”

The Haugen’s moved to Valley City a few years back and have since been loyal attendees of the winter show.

Will Haugen says, “It’s fun to come out here. The girls love to go see the animals and I think mom and dad just like to go get the food.”

Besides the exhibits, this year’s winter show features livestock, crops and a variety of events that guarantee to please all.

NDWS Manager Dawn Riley says, “Concert…Rodney Atkins. PRCA Rodeos, Saturday and Sunday. We have free stage acts. We have all kinds of fun stuff going on.”

Even despite the current cold weather, the North Dakota Winter Show expects more than 30,000 people to come out over its 6–day run.

Riley says, “You’ve been cooped up for several months. Like today, how cold is it how? It’s pretty cold. On Friday – Saturday, any day after today it’s going to be nice out so get out. You have cabin fever!”

Maybe you’re not a shopping fan or into tractors…but there still may be just one thing you won’t want to miss out on.

Haugen adds, “The footlong hot dog…that still gets me.”

The North Dakota Winter Show runs through Sunday.
