Local Fraternities Make Statement

North Dakota’s fraternity chapters of Sigma Alpha Epsilon are responding to the controversy surrounding their brothers at Oklahoma University.

A video has been released showing members of the SAE chapter at the University of Oklahoma participating in a racist chant.

NDSU and UND chapters released a statement that reads,”In no way does the behavior and attitude of these members reflect the behavior and attitudes of members of our two chapters….
“As members of this fraternity, we take great measures to live up to the expectations of our creed, the “True Gentleman” which requires us to treat everyone with dignity and respect.”

The two local chapters also support the supreme council in terminating the University of Oklahoma chapter.
